BACK IN THE SADDLE
I can't promise anything, but here we go again. This space has been dormant for a while, but the Beitel-Blog is cranking up again. Round and round she goes, where she stops...nobody knows. The focus will, as always, be -- you know -- whatever. Used to be that was lots of politics and surely it shall be again. (Speaking of which, Ted Koppel's mad as hell about Afghanistan, and he's not gonna take it anymore!) Sports and popular culture too. Lit-ra-chure. Films. Whatever, indeed. The goal is 100 posts in 2008. Where do we stand: 2. Stay tuned for the other 98.
CHECK OUT GREENCUP BOOKS
The inimitable Russell Helms is a guerilla artiste extraordinaire, and he is brightening his little corner of the Magic City by establishing a not-for-profit bookstore/salon (of the intellectual variety -- though I'm sure he could be convinced to give you a shampoo & cut and maybe even a permanent wave if you asked really nicely). Russell is extremely good peeps, and his enterprise is laudable. And the space he's got is great. Positive feng shui abounds. Go buy a book. Take a free class in Marxist Feminism or writing memoirs (writing Marxist Feminist memoirs?).
